Motorsport Weekend – Saturday
What a weekend. I decided to go up to Mt Crawford for the rally and with the help of a few different websites I was able to get a good idea of where some of the stages went so I didnt go to the normal spectators area at Forties, instead I went to the Mt Gawler & Goldfields stages. For the Mt Gawler Stage I was at a hair pin on the corner of Mt Gawler Road and Airport Road, was a nice corner, the cars go to the crest of the road, then came into our view, coming down the hill, then into a fairly slow left hand then go into the distance into a fast sweeping left hander. I got some nice photos, you can see a couple below and more in my gallery.
After watching about half of the field go through I left and headed towards Williamstown, Cockatoo Valley for the Goldfields stage of the Rally. This was a different sort of corner, the cars drove along a long straight, came up a hill at the basically at the crest of the hill there was a sharp (almost hair pin) right hander that the cars had to negotiate. There are a few photos of this stage included also.
Again after seeing about half the field go through I had to head home. When I got home I found out that the SA Motor Racing Championship was on at Mallala and that mum could get free tickets from a lady she works at Treasured Design with. Her husband racers in the series and had a free ticket available for me. So I decided that I would go up there (more news & photos tomorrow).

Hey you should have given me a call, I would have come up with you. That camera of yours is pretty good, wish I could afford one of them, I just cant seem to justify it and work wont buy it for me
