Unless you have had your head in the sand Casey Stoner is the MotoGP World Champion. He finished 6th at Motegi, Japan on Sunday but that was enough to win with Rossi having a bit of a shocker and finished 13th or 14th cant remember which (and really who cares).

Sunday night also coincided with an interview with Casey on the Aussie version of 60 Minutes – thought it was a good segment – the most intriguing thing for me was a comment made by Rossi about Casey being only 21 – Rossi scoffed and said he had been World Champion twice by then – what he didn’t saw that he was World Champion in different classes ie 125cc and 250cc. I find it interesting that they call them self the World Champion even though they are really only a feeder category to the main series – I am how many riders do you see winning the MotoGP Championship then going off and deciding to do the 250cc Champion – I would guess none – because after a full time ride in MotoGP 250s really aren’t anything special.

Well we are off to Storm the Island still – hopefully now that the pressure is fully off Casey he can blitz the field and Ant West and Chris V can also be on the podium – wouldn’t that be awesome to see the 3 Aussies on the podium at the Island – bring it on I say.
