Heat Wave
So Adelaide is in the middle of our longest ever heat wave, and today it is set to become the longest heat wave in a capital city in Australia. If you have a look the BOM website for the stats you will see that on March 3° it was 35.4 and since then it has been above 35° every day, today will be day 10. It isnt ending any time soon according to the forecast either, until next Tuesday it is tipped to be 38 or 39 each day. I think I am starting to feel the effects of it, I have been struggling to sleep overnight, we don’t tend to leave the air conditioner on overnight for a few reasons:
1. Its evaporative and you wake up damp
2. It costs money to run
3. Need to give it a rest
4. There have been a number of units burning out recently – it could be dangerous
The irony of this heat wave is that if the Clipsal 500 was in its usual time slot of either this weekend of last it would have been very hot for all four days, yet when it was on in February it rained – go figure.
Well looking forward to next Wednesday when it does cool down to a mild 31°
